$10,000 Gold Certificates are the result of a 1935 fire in a Treasury
storage area in Washington, D.C. While fighting the fire, a quantity of these redeemed and cancelled notes were thrown out into the street, where the notes were picked up by passers-by. They have no redemption value. * No examples are known to exist in private collections. |
